Behind the Music
BIO
Formed in a Boston suburb in August of 2016, Top Down has been working hard to bring you the best possible sound we can. A proud Massachusetts born and raised group, Top Down was formed to bring alive and revive the slowly dying rock n roll genre. With influences tied deep into the heart of rock n roll, we provide a unique sound that hasn't been attempted for quite some time. Vocalist Stephen Damon Tilley has worked alongside artists such as Billy Sheehan and Eric Martin and brings to the table a stellar vocal range. Guitarist Eddie Surman gives legendary guitarist Eddie Van Halen a run for his money with ear shattering guitar riffs and solos. Bassist Brian O'Connor, a newcomer to the project brings a fresh face and fresh feel to the group with roots deep into punk and grunge. Drummer Dalton DeLima is a winner of the Woody Herman Jazz Drumming award in 2013 and gains inspiration from Neil Peart, Dave Grohl, and Taylor Hawkins, and it shows in his playing. Together we work to preserve our spot as a force to be reckoned with in the metro Boston music scene, and soon, the national music scene.

STEPHEN DAMON-TILLEY
Lead Vocals
Stephen has been a hard working musician for most of his life and brings the heart and soul to the band with his amazing vocal work. Working alongside artists such as Eric Martin, Stephen has learned a lot and has earned his place as a Massachusetts artist to watch.
EDDIE SURMAN
Electric Guitar
Eddie Surman is a founding member of the Top Down family and has found his sound by listening to the greats such as Eddie Van Halen, Paul Stanley, and Jeff Beck. Eddie brings slammin riffs and solos to the table and stuns the crowd everytime.
BRIAN O'CONNOR
Bass Guitar
Brian O'Connor is a newcomer to the project. Since entering the band in July of 2017, Brian has again and again proved himself and is a backbone for the project, essential for its survival.
DALTON DELIMA
Drums/Percussion
Dalton DeLima has been around since the beginning and himself and guitarist Eddie Surman have worked together in multiple projects in the past making him a perfect fit. The recipient of the 2013 Woody Herman Jazz Drumming award, Dalton's beats hold the group together like glue.
